Here's what makes me think this is a picture of Andrew Jackson and Mattie Potter.

Martha Ann "Mattie" Potter married John Jesse Colbaugh on April 14, 1869 in Boerne, Texas (Copy of the marriage certificate from external site). She was 13 and he was 22. The marriage was performed by Rev. Potter.
From the biography of Andrew Jackson Potter:
"This year [1867] Mr. Potter got a dangerous horse-a good work-horse, but he had been spoiled as a riding-horse. He was not aware of that fact, and while on a visit to his home he got on his new horse, thinking him entirely gentle, but he soon learned his mistake. The spoiled horse began to pitch, and though he was a splendid rider, the horse got the advantage of him some way, and threw him, damaging one of his hips; and he lay in bed several weeks, and went on crutches several months. He then got into his ambulance, and made his little son drive him to his circuit, and he preached on his crutches for several weeks. The fall disabled some of the ligaments of his hip, and shortened his left-leg a little, and now there is a slight limp in his step."
This sketch of Rev. Potter bears a close resemblance to the man in the picture. Click on the image for a larger picture. Use your browser's 'back' button to return

So, given that: --The date of the photo is indefinite at circa 1868,
--The man is steadying himself with a cane with his weight on his right leg.
--this was his eldest daughter's marriage,
--They are dressed for a special occassion,
--photographs would have been reserved for the most special of occassions,
I think it is reasonable to believe this is an image of Andrew Jackson Potter with his daughter Martha Ann at or about the time of her marriage to John Jesse Colbaugh. What do you think?
